Overview

Learn traditional confectionery from a talented and award-winning Algarvian pastry chef who has been passionately creating the famous marzipan cakes (the so-called "doce fino"), "Dom Rodrigos" and many other delicacies for more than 30 years. Using only local and mostly organic ingredients typical of the Algarve, such as dried figs, almonds, and carob beans (most of them picked from her own garden) and eggs from fee-range chickens , the confectioner will skillfully show you how to make sweets with a distinctive flavor and appearance, following her own recipes handed down from generation to generation and kept with care and love. You will then have the pleasure of making your own 'doce fino', some replicating the samples given by the Chef and others with a free theme; each participant will be able to indulge using their creativity and manual skills. At the end of the class you will taste the cakes you have made, pairing them with good coffee or tea, and take home the ones you have left over... but we are sure it will be very difficult to resist the temptation to eat them all in one bite!
