Step-off the beaten tracks and immerse in the unspoiled inland Algarve. A local family opens his door to share a traditional meal with you
After a 2 hours hike in the morning, a family from Sao Marcos da Serra will welcome in his home to share traditional dishes that you can only find in this part of the Algarve. Besides the corn and the traditional sausages - of which the cornmeal blood sausage and the pork tripe stand out - there are snacks not to be missed... cooked on a wood fire and to be shared across the table, such as the pork cheek, the pork shank, the beans with cabbage or the rooster with onion, served with the chicken foot! After this full lunch, we'll walk to the family distillery, where a master spirit-maker will share its knowledge about local firewater "Medronho"
